VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Construction has begun on Evergreen Habitat for Humanity's 2012 Women Build house.
Unlike their other homes, this construction is being completed thanks to individual donations. Every dollar solicited from the public and businesses helps make the dream of owning a home a reality for one more family in Vancouver. Donations can be made online at www.ehfh.org.
"Clark County's first ever 'Women Build' will enable hundreds of women of all different skill levels to give back to their community and help put a roof over a partner family," said Josh Townsley, executive director, Evergreen Habitat for Humanity.
The home is at 1027 W. 39th Street in Vancouver. Miguel and Desere Bastidas will share the home with their two daughters, Arianna, 4, and Aleesya, 2, upon completion.
"Having our own home means everything to us. It means stability in every aspect of our lives," Desere Bastidas said.
